Requirements Capture and Organisation

Hi

I am starting off as a BA, and a core part of my role (initially) will be capturing requirements and documenting them. I was just wondering if there are any templates which can be used to document these requirements in a logical manner which can then be used within a RTM (Requirements Traceability Matrix).

Secondly, I will be doing some As-Is and To-Be diagrams, what is the best way to document these? Any document templates to highlight key points for discussion

Thanks

Re: Requirements Capture and Organisation

M Singh-

I found this PDF to be very helpful for as-is and to-be diagrams.

Business Requirements Document - NYU

Question for you - Should all Use Cases be included in the Business Requirement document?

Re: Requirements Capture and Organisation

Hi,

M Singh: As you mentioned, it is a good start and if you know what your tasks would be then following any particular methodology will be a bit harder. Try to understand why is the requirement, what changes will it make and what is to be done to get over the problem. Document what you have understood. This will be your BRS.

Though many templates are also available for BRS and FRS.

Thanks,

*FJC

Just as a system is composed of various functionalities, requirements too are identified in various forms. This ...
