Acceptance Criteria

Hello,

I just wonder when do you actually write the Acceptance Criteria? And HOW Do you elicit it?

I know it is before the development phase, but when exactly? Is it at the time you elicit the User Stories?

Many thanks for your experience

Madi

Hi,

When to write acceptance criteria: Write acceptance criteria as soon as possible after eliciting the user story, before the development phase begins.

How to elicit acceptance criteria:

  1. Identify the success criteria for the user story.
  2. Ask yourself what must be true in order for the user story to be considered complete.
  3. Write the acceptance criteria in a specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound format.

Tips for eliciting and writing acceptance criteria:

  • Involve the stakeholders.
  • Be specific.
  • Be measurable.
  • Be achievable.
  • Be relevant.
  • Be time-bound.

Hello, is there a sample format for  acceptance criteria?
