Areas of Interest 

Hi, can you please advise me what should be areas of interest for a Business Analyst esp when asked in interviews and resume builders of various web sites? i am a bit confused on this. thanks!

The answer the recruiters are looking for probably depends on the context so you should try to clarify the intent of the recruiter: aka what exactly they are looking for.

They are probably looking for one of the following:

  • Do you have any area of focus within the Business Analysis discipline (Enterprise Analysis vs. Data Analysis vs. Business Intelligence vs. Business Process Modeling vs. Systems Analysis, etc.)?
  • Are you interested in a specific vertical domain: healthcare vs. financial vs. manufacturing, etc.?
  • Are you looking to focus on specific type of application: business application vs. embedded systems vs. web applications vs. SAP, etc.
