Designing Data Flow Diagrams 

Does anyone have or know a good video tutorial when building data flow diagrams? 

More like step by step guides with simple examples?

Hi

I would like to suggest the Smart Draw and Visual Pradigm. There are other individuals tutorials as well. All these cover the basic and indepth understanding of the DFD.

There are two different libraries for DFD’s supporting all objects for Yourdon & Coad (YC) and Gane & Sarson (GS). Even with these two standards, there may be subtle differences on how you draw DFD’s based on how your organization / institution has set its standards.

Creately has data flow diagram templates to map data flows made of both types of DFD notations (Gane & Sarson and Yourdon & Coad).

You just have to simply click the data flow diagram templates below to open them in the editor, so you can either edit them according to your requirements or export them as templates. It also explains about the how you can draw a data flow diagram step by step.
