Also you may want to consider finding something right here at ModernAnalyst.com.  I know that Perry McLeod has been involved in a project for ModernAnalyst.com that he and Adrian Marchis have been tracking as the "Live Project".  The intent is to have others like this.  We are just starting to formalize this so we haven't publicized other projects yet, but if you are interested it is certainly and excellent way to get hands on experience.

We would prefer to match your skillset to the project at hand.  This doesn't mean you have to have a lot of experience as an anlyst, but some experience would help.

Let us know if you are interested and we can put you in the queue of potential project members.  When a suitable project arises we can get you involved.

Hello Kumar. My name is Perry McLeod. I read this thread a while ago and wondered if you might be able to help me/us out. Adrian suggested it to me on the weekend and have to I admit that I sure could use the help. I am a senior business analysis consultant and a member of the Toronto Canada Chapter IIBA board. A lot of my extra time has been going towards the IIBA recently.

As you have read, Adrian and I have been working on a project for MA.com but so far, we have only produced a business case. I'd like you to have a look at it and let me know if you are interested in helping me/us produce the Business Requirements Document that will be used create the product design. We will be using iterative analysis and object oriented design. Where it makes sense we will be agile and only write the artifacts that we need. It's all mentioned in the business case.

I will be your lead BA and look to you to gather much of the requirements. I will guide and coach you along the way. I have over 10 years of experience and spend a lot of time mentoring other business analysts. I am also a CBAP.

In the end this is something that you can put on your resume and perhaps even use me as a reference.
