Requirements Gathering Between Business Analysts
Life is a Use Case ... By Chris Jung on 12/2/2007 2:07 PM
I've come to understand the necessity for stakeholder involvement throughout the Requirements Gathering process. But what if it's another BA who is the stakeholder company's point of contact whom you'll be gathering requirements from instead of the stake holder themselves? Is there an advantage? How do we leverage the strength of our Requirements Engineering knowledge to come up with an appropriate set of requirements for a project?

Obstacle Analysis: How Problematic Scenarios Occurring during Requirements Analysis can be Nullified
Business Analysis: From Engineering to Art By Hanoz Kapadia on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 8:56 PM
Analysts everyday and in every domain of business come across obstacles in their analysis and efforts that prevent them from best meeting the needs of the business. These obstacles can be in the form of business processes, or system limitations, or both. Furthermore, a considerably big obstacle can be potentially detrimental to the spirit and purpose of a project. Obstacle Analysis is a tool that provides a systematic approach to overcoming those obstacles. Tackling road-blocks carefully and comprehensively can aid in achieving the mission of a project and in turn, satisfy customers.

Random Thoughts of an Analysis Manager By adrian on 10/18/2007 10:53 AM
Take any area of study and you will always find a quest for the Holy Grail. Business Analysis is no exception. The Holy Grail “du jour” in business analysis seems to be competencies.... The quest for competencies should begin with identifying the various roles that analysts fulfill and the tasks the analysts are expected to perform. Only then will recruiters, trainers, employers, and analysts be able to begin to tackle the question of competencies.

An Inquiry into the Roles of the BA and the BSA
Business Analysis: From Engineering to Art By Hanoz Kapadia on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 9:02 PM
One of the lines of discussion from an earlier blog by PriyaRS (Role of a Business Analyst; 8-2-07) was that how do we define the role of a BA. Is there a difference in responsibilities executed by a business analyst and business systems analyst? Or, are the titles simply synonymous with each other? Attempting to clear out some of that fog is the purpose of this article. As much as I enjoyed writing this, I also look forward to receiving your feedback and thoughts…keep the flow of information going.
