Main Purpose of the Role
The Solutions Analysis team owns the product development process for specific initiatives from concept development through to product launch; including analysis of business and user needs, product requirements specification and design, and liaison between key stakeholders.

The primary focus of the role will be to support the development of specified elements of content and functionality for products within Life Sciences portfolio. The post-holder will be working closely with other Solutions Analysts taking part in analysis and documenting functional and non-functional requirements that will be used to guide the efforts of cross-functional delivery teams, containing clear and unambiguous usage scenarios and acceptance criteria.
As a technical/business expert will keep abreast of changes in the industry and competitive environment to align product development activities to customer needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To analyse and understand the business and user needs of clients and stakeholders to help identify business problems and propose solutions
• To research, articulate and specify current and future requirements for the Life Sciences product developments
• Assist product management in the prioritization and development of scope for a release.
• Work closely with the cross-functional teams (e.g. UX, Development, QA) to communicate and clarify requirements and ensure developments meet requirements by providing acceptance.
• Provide assistance to the QA team in reviewing test scripts (as required), communicating and clarifying requirements and engagement in the review and prioritisation of bugs.
• Work alongside Editorial to gain a better understanding of content and data and to identify requirements for delivering new content and/or improvements to existing content.
• Maintain regular relationships with both internal and external customers to understand their information needs, their use of Clarivate Analytics products and to gain feedback on functional requirements during the development process.
• To provide guidance and input into all business model, customer education, marketing, and sales support activities, as required.
• To undertake any other Solutions Analysis duties as requested by your line manager/director

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree level in a life sciences degree would be an advantage, but not essential
• An ISEB "Certificate" IIBA Certificate diploma, or similar, in business analysis would be an advantage

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
• Life Sciences (biology, chemistry, pharma industry, bio/chemo/pharmaco-informatics) domain knowledge is a bonus but not required. The ability to absorb and understand a new domain and user base quickly is essential.
• Commercial and technical knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry an advantage: target discovery, drug discovery and drug development process
• Sound understanding of developing and implementing product development initiatives
• Experience of writing product specifications and requirements/user stories would be an advantage
• Good understanding of working in an Agile development environment or lean business process methodologies
• Good working knowledge of BDD an advantage - "Behavior Driven Development"

SKILLS
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A creative team player with the ability to plan and prioritise work with a complex schedule of events and activities 
• Desired technical attributes include:
• Knowledge of SQL querying
• Experience in the design and development of REST/Soap web services
• Data modelling
• Data analysis and data visualisation skills, with knowledge of Spotfire and/or D3 an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications
• Strong communications skills in formal presentations and public speaking
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Confident and proactive
• Can set priorities and be flexible in a changing environment
