Business Systems Analyst 2 Job in New Haven, Connecticut

This position, reporting to the Office of Research Administration (ORA) Systems Manager, will be a member of the ORA team supporting InfoEd/Integrated Research Enterprise Solutions (IRES) application users. The ORA Systems Analyst (ORA-SA) is the primary contact for customer support for one or more of the IRES applications. They will act as a face to the customer and must be able to respond to a varying scope of user needs, at all levels of the University, in a timely and efficient manner. The ORA-SA is also responsible for supporting configuration maintenance according to department and University standards. Creativity, the ability to multitask and, the capacity to switch focus quickly and as needed, are required for this position. The person in this position must have a capacity to understand technical concepts but be able to communicate in a non-technical manner with functional users.

Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a functional system administrator role.
• Experience acting as liaison between technical and non-technical groups.
• Experience in a customer service focused, fast paced environment.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to elicit, document and validate requirements for systems. Ability to define and execute testing procedures to ensure high quality solutions, including test scenarios and test cases for user acceptance testing, usability testing and customer satisfaction assessments.
• Proven ability to create and execute customer service programs to educate end users in the use of applications and minimize occurrence of problems. Ability to plan and execute the analysis and functional design of new applications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with internal ITS and other partners and external vendors. Ability to quickly develop familiarity with policies and procedures in research administration and apply new knowledge to system design and configuration.
• Exceptional communication (written and interpersonal) and problem-solving skills are necessary. Must be able to speak clearly to users. Strong team leader with good customer service focus. Proven ability to work independently as well as collaborate with other administrative staff.
• Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail and prioritize tasks. Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Preferred: Experience with implementation of Click Commerce applications. Formal training in Click Commerce Portal Solutions including Click Portal, Process Studio, Entity Manager, and Site Designer. Experience with the Click data structure and configuration views, SmartForms, and security policies. Ability to create custom reports through the Click Customer Search Tool. Knowledge of basic JavaScript
