BI or Business Intelligence is a very broad term that at its most basic level means understanding your business. How do you understand a business? Through analyzing data and information in a structure and organized way.  Business Intelligence can refer to the software, data/information, and reporting required to gain the necessary knowledge and information about your business that is needed to make informed decisions.  This allows for appropriate decision making and strategic planning.
