Re: Data Analyst vs. Business Analyst???

Data Analyst :- They perform a variety of tasks related to collecting, organizing, and interpreting statistical information. The precise nature of the job varies somewhat from profession to profession, as an analyst working for a hospital would necessarily focus on different things than would someone working for a department store or a supermarket chain.

Business Analyst:- Business analytics (BA) refers to the skills, technologies, practices for continuous iterative exploration and investigation of past business performance to gain insight and drive business planning.

Re: Data Analyst vs. Business Analyst???

My view is that Data Analyst is essentially a technical role performed by a developer or technical BA (think you call that a BSA in North America or perhaps systems analyst). Business Analyst is a more business facing role.

But I only made this post, cause I don't really care much about titles, so that I can add at then end....  P.S. John, loved 'your body is a wonderland'.

Re: Data Analyst vs. Business Analyst???

business analysts and data scientists are both data focused roles, they differ in that a business analyst analyzes data and assesses requirements from a business perspective related to an organization’s overall system. On the other hand, a data scientist is more focused on the relationship of the data in an organization’s database. They use their skill set to compare data to competitors in the industry. They perform statistical analysis on data and provide insights based on that analysis. Both data as well as business analysts must be problem solvers. The skills of a business analyst may include expertise in the implementation of particular software such as SAP or PeopleSoft applications. Educational credentials frequently include a business degree. An MBA is not unusual. A business analyst is a crucial link between the IT staff of the company and the rest of the working community.

Whereas, the main tasks of data analysts are to collect, manipulate and analyze data
