Terms used in SRS preparation
Modified By priya on 4/1/2008 6:25:31 AM)

Hi

i am working as a management consultant and my profile is same as a business analyst in e-Governance domain. But we do not use any tool during requirement gathering. My profile is

  • Requirement gathering
  • Study the existing system
  • Capture the work flow
  • Prepare SRS
  • Co-ordinating with the software development team

We have never used any specific tools for this........since i joined as a fresher here, i did not get any guidance here.Based upon the previous documents we are carrying out things now. so i do not know the Terms we are using like in Functional Requirement Specification we use 'Ability to....' , 'Provision to....' etc. but i do not know the exact term for this..........

Could you please guide me in these regards..What are the terms we use in SRS??Steps to follow while preparing SRS.........etc

The best start would be Software Requirements, Second Edition by Karl E. Wiegers. It really must read.
