Should Information exist before technology
Hi, I am asking this question because time and again I have come across situations where we have to create data models, process flows, workflows. Quite often these are first introduced with the software that manages it. I believe that information (data), processes (business/people processes) must be defined and used outside the software before it can be brought into a software. You can build a software based on business stakeholders understanding of the data/process and that's where modelling helps us define it but unless its actually used in practice the software created to manage it, is at risk of changing when the data/process is first created and refined. Your views welcome.
