Thanks Craig,
You have been great in replying and sharing !
I will keep your advice in mind. Will try to focuss more on the core of the role(mostly strong communication, analytical skills etc).
Unformatunately I am not sure what will happen with Job scenario as in indian market its always they hire readymade people , They never understand
that if the person has apt/interest he can learn it fast. In current scenario here , Recruiters prefer people with domain knowledge as they can speak some technical jargons related to client's business. So that's all about the saga , But will try to focuss more on core skills and will try to gain atleast surface knowledge on domain fronts.
Your analysis about the selection of the sector seems to be right. Mostly people get carried away with the first opportunity which they grab:-)
thanks for reverting and guiding .....few people do that......and I salute them :-)....Read your blog......its really insightfull ......Keep the ball rolling.....you are helping many people like us.
Thanks,
Priyanka
Thanks Chris,
Sorry I missed your name above , Sorry for that. Any other inputs?
Core team, can we create a thread set for reference material links pertaining to the general indutries ppl get involved with?
It would be great as we will get info at one shop for the sector we are interested in.
Thanks.
A new category has been created called "Vertical Domain/Industry Advice". You can start a thread there for whatever vertical you are interested in and the community can answer any questions you may have. I encourage people to post documents, links, and other resources that are specific to each vertical.

That is an intersting challenge that the people in Australia, Western Europe and North America on't face. We are usually in the same building, or at least have regular access to the project stakeholders and clients. It must add a whole new dimension of complxity when the closest you get to the actual client is via video conferences with low level SMEs and business facing analysts.
I have added few threads over there. It would be best to see diverse set of people share their ideas about the domain they are working with.
Will be great learning experience and ppl preparing for specific domain can get best of information at one stop. Also Industry Advice will be great for newbies.
Thanks for it.
