I saw some comments and thought I'd restate them as I understand them, and offer some commentary of my own.
1. University educated BAs make better BAs.
While a university degree generally increases a person's ability to perform in the role, t is not in itself a sufficient thing to make a peson a superior BA. Many other things are important for the mix. Among them are experience, intelligence, interest and curiosity.
Having said that, university degrees, regardless of discipline, teach analytical approachs to problems, communications skills, teamwork and the importance of perseverance (it's a 3 year project.) That is why they help.
2. BA's need to be logical
Logic is again,an important skill - or intelligence - but t is not sufficient in itself. You also have to have emotional intelligence, good interpersonal skills, the ability to switch your thinking from strategic to detailed and more. Logic may even be secondary skill.
