UML and BA
Hi, I just wanted to get some opinions on how important you all feel UML knowledge is for a BA. Maybe on a scale of 1 - 10. Thanks,

Re: UML and BA

Even for the "roles" of IT Business Analyst and Systems Analyst? I would have thought that being able to communicate the requirements to the developers in UML would be handy. But then again I am not sure how many developers are familiar with UML. Not many that I have met anyway.

Re: UML and BA

Guy and I both come from the perspective that it's mich more important to speak the language of the customer.  And to b able to do the problem identification and analysis work.

Maybe UMNL helps you along with this, but there are a million other modelling tchniques and pretty much any one will do, as long as you are an effective communicator and an analytic/structured thinker.
