Senior Business Systems Analyst

Essential Functions
• Serve as subject matter expert for the Trust’s research/document management system (e.g. FactSet RMS) and other systems as assigned
• Established super user and point person ultimately responsible for system oversight
• Key contributor in system implementation and functionality upgrade projects, including translating business needs into requirements in collaboration with users, the vendor, and other Trust departments
• Collaborate with internal staff, external investment managers, and vendors to gather, validate, and load required documents
• Design, implement, and maintain quality checks, including dashboards and reporting, to ensure system maintains complete, accurate, and timely information (e.g. documents, data, workflows)
• System issue log management, including coordination of and participation in application testing and issue resolution
• Assist with the design, development, delivery and ongoing support of a streamlined, user-friendly training program
• Develop and maintain process flows and in-system workflows, working with investment staff as needed
• Work with users to recommend enhancements and controls for continued process improvement
• Assist with vendor management to deliver a successful solution to the Trust
• Participate in ad-hoc projects as requested

Technical Competencies
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Highly proficient in personal computer skills and use of software (Microsoft suite and other applicable investment tools)
• Ability to learn new technology and applications, and to assist with system configuration and procedure development
• Demonstrated experience working with software applications including configuration, testing, controls, training, and data/process maintenance
Personal Effectiveness Competencies
All employees of the Trust are expected to demonstrate relevant personal effectiveness competencies as specified in the Trust’s competency definitions.
Minimum Required Experience
• 3 years of experience
• Education or experience in a related professional business area, e.g. operations, finance, systems, computer science, accounting.
• Demonstrated self-starter with ability to work with limited supervision
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Organizational skills with an ability to meet deadlines with accuracy
• “Ownership” mentality with demonstrated ability to be responsible for an entire system, process, project, etc.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment where roles and responsibilities are evolving as new processes and procedures are implemented
• Demonstrated initiative and willingness to assume higher levels of responsibility as needed
• Project management work experience preferred
• Prior investment and/or investment operations experience beneficial
• SQL experience beneficial

Education, Professional Certifications and Licensure
Bachelor’s degree required.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• The physical requirements of this position are typical of office work
• Occasional travel as required to Trust’s Detroit office
• Infrequent travel as required
