See a Job You Like? Then Just Apply For It.

Looking at some of the jobs listed on the major job boards, I have to laugh reading them. Most of the skills and requirements they want looks like bits and pieces of the alphabet...everything from A to Z. Even some of the Entry Level positions want several years of experience. For many people, the list of requirements are a turn-off and they move on to other listings.

Don't be deterred. What they show is basically a wish List...and this wish list stops a lot of people from applying.

Go ahead and apply anyway, send your resume to them, let them decide if they want to talk to you or not. After reading the company's requirements, you might be the only person that has the guts to apply. Besides, if they don't like your resume, they arn't going to send someone to your house and yell at you....they will just throw it away.

What Do You Have To Loose? Maybe a Job Offer.

Re: See a Job You Like? Then Just Apply For It.

Thank you NitwitNick for sharing this observation. I just started a thread Peoplesoft, CRM, ERP, Help Needed!.

I am facing the same situation. You need to know all for all these jobs but no one lets you learn or tell how to go about it.

Yeah I did pull out of applying for a lot of these, since my resume is nowhere close to the requirements listed. But might just consider them anyways now.

Thanks

"You need to know all for all these jobs"

Just send a resume.....they might see something you did that they want you to do.

You said you were a BA.....maybe that company needs someone for a upcoming project. You can at least get your foot in the door.

Remember....If they don't like you....no one will come to your door and smack you around....they will just put your resume on the Rejected pile.

"they will just put your resume on the Rejected pile."

They might call you in for an interview ... you might not get hired ... but it will give you experience in what they ask you for the role you applied for.

Take those topics and study them a little bit deeper.
