Re: Hi, i am new menber here

Welcome Jim:

The common definition of analysis (in general) is partitioning an entity (such as a business system) into its components and examining how the components interrelate.

In particular, the difficult task at hand for a Business Analyst is partitioning (i.e., dividing up):  Manual and/or automated systems  can not be seen or felt, and, therefore, properly partitioning (and decomposing) them can be difficult.

Additionally, looking at the essential interrelationships between requirements vs just documenting requirements in isolation is shunned by many  BA's.  Key here: the word "essential".   The essential interrelationships associated with a process/task are its inputs and outputs - typically data flows.

Advice:  Strongly focus on the above and you will quckily move ahead of the pack.

Tony
