I am based in bay area, california. I looking for some internship/volunteer opportunities in IT.
I have about 3 years experience as a BA but my technical knowledge is bare minimal. Just about HTML, CSS, some SQL basics (queries etc). I am looking for some internship that will give me some idea about the technical aspects, on-th-job kind of training.

IMO, it’s about time for you to start your independent work. It has some pretty good benefits: - Financial benefits than a traditional job - Flexible timing - Lowest capital investment - Increase professional skills Start planning now and try visiting signature for more ideas.
I agree that independent work is the way to go now days, however before doing so it is important to decide wether or not it is something for you... working for yourself takes a lot of dedication and focus. I suggest doing some research on how to run your own business. However Michael Linenberger offers a lot of great advice in his latest book, "Master Your Workday Now!" I strongly suggest it for all.
