Hi:

Structured analysis data modeling i.e, entity relationship diagramming is an ANALYSIS technique

OO data modeling techniques, such as class diagrams are DESIGN techniques

 ABSOLUTELY AGREE....but when I think of OO modeling, I include use cases...which I think are a great tool for fleshing out requirements and analyzing processes/roles/deliverables.
