Re: Recognized BA Trainers and Certfcation

Hi Priyanka,

Yes - there are training organizations that offer certifications.  These certifications show potential employers that you went through a set of training courses for business analysts.  It is a good idea to have something like this if you have no experience.

B2T Training offers such a certification:

B2T Training's Certification Program

Thanks Adrian for revering,

I did check the certification program at B2T. It looks way expensive to me ( Around 80000 Indian Rs.)

So not only beyond question , but also beyond my capacity I would say :-)

Do you have any idea about BCS - certification for Business Analysis , it has relatively much more lower fees.

Does IIBA offer any lower end certifications (Like Associate program of B2T) by any chance?

Thanks again !

Priyanka

Re: Recognized BA Trainers and Certfcation

The B2T certification program includes actual training courses hence the price - if you don't have formal business analysis training I would recommend taking some courses which are designed with the business analyst in mind.

My understanding is that the BCS certification is just the test and oral examination and does not include any training - therefore it is cheaper.  So far I have only heard positive things about the BCS certification so, if all you are looking for is a certification, the BCS one might  be a good way for you to go.

Today, the only certification offered by the IIBA is the CBAP and it requires 5 years of business analysis experience.

Hope this helps!
