how to document complex set of business rules and calculations.

Hello folks,

Can anyone suggest any good ideas to document complex & massive(100’s of pages) set of business rules and calculations?
Specifically, I am eliciting requirements for a new application, the stakeholders are helpful and providing a lot of long and descriptive process steps, rules and sample spreadsheet calculations. It seems very editorial and not sure if they would be helpful for development. What I see is that most of the steps are mostly automated calculations based on certain conditions. Seems like ideal candidate to use decision trees and business rules engine, but I don’t have much experience with it.
Has anyone had any similar experiences or suggest any good ways to document such large amounts of calculations / business rules them. Any examples would be helpful.
K

Check out the folks at Business Rule Solutions , http://www.brsolutions.com/

What you are describing is even more complicated than you think now; rules are not just requirements, they are about vocabulary, terms, staements of fact, constraints on facts = rules, and much more.

If you like what you see at BRS, tell them Dave Wright of IAG Consulting sent you....

It answers: Is this story clear, feasible...
In today's fast-paced digital world, successful projects aren't just built on great code—they're built on clarity. And that clarity often comes from one key player: the Business Analyst. At the heart of every great product or system is a need—a business goal, a customer pain point, or a regulatory requirement. But busines...
I have always loved cooking. I learned from my Grandma June and her kitchen was her sanctuary, a small, warm sunlit space filled with jars of spices, stacks of cookbooks, and the comforting smell of something always on the stove or baking in the oven. Grandma June was as great a cook as she was a teacher to me. She never followed a recipe “to...
