Marketing to Business Analysis?

Hello, I would like to move into a Business Analysis career direction, but I would appreciate if you can give some advice.

I have a BA degree in Journalism and an MA in Marketing and Advertising. Working as a PR and Marketing Officer for 2 years.

I have applied for some entry-level business analysis jobs but the feedback I received was that my skills didn't perfectly match the job.

I understand that I require some analytical, technical skills for a BA role, so my question is.. what do to next?

I have researched some courses from the OU on data analysis, databases, maths, economics ones - should I do some of these and work towards a more numerical related degree? This will obviously last quite some time, so would just a few of these courses be enough - like 2 or 3 to start applying for jobs again?

Also, I was thinking I could be doing some business analyst training courses - but they are very expensive and explaining about what BA is and giving me some specific information and knowledge - but this won't give me the numerical skills that I need?

Looking at business analysis traning courses, I was told there are 2 different directions for this - as  more of an IT analyst, where they would teach me about requirements gathering, looking at work processes, modelling and so on. The other direction is more of a financial, data analyst.

Could you please give me some advice and guidance here, considering my background what I would need to do next?

Any help would be much appreciated!

In today's fast-paced digital world, successful projects aren't just built on great code—they're built on clarity. And that clarity often comes from one key player: the Business Analyst. At the heart of every great product or system is a need—a business goal, a customer pain point, or a regulatory requirement. But busines...
I have always loved cooking. I learned from my Grandma June and her kitchen was her sanctuary, a small, warm sunlit space filled with jars of spices, stacks of cookbooks, and the comforting smell of something always on the stove or baking in the oven. Grandma June was as great a cook as she was a teacher to me. She never followed a recipe “to...
