BCI Global Chairman Steve Mellish was on hand Tuesday evening, June 4, 2013 to deliver the latest results of a global survey and hand out awards to the best business continuity professionals in the Australasia region.

Speaking at Westpac Bank in Sydney before a crowd of 80 plus attendees, Steve was clear in his message; “Business continuity is about delivering resilient business performance and about protecting reputation in the face of ever growing and complex threats to our businesses”. He went on to explain that in a recent global survey many organizations are focusing their efforts on the top 3 threats to business continuity including; unplanned IT and telecomm outages, data breach and cyber-attack. Blue Zoo’s Governance Manager Solution was announced as winner of the Business Continuity Innovation of the Year Award. Governance Manager stood out from the pack with its unique focus on making the strategic planning of governance and business continuity simple and inclusive, rather than the traditional focus on day to day operations and the associated administrative burdens.

The innovative approach was selected because it empowers executive management teams to shape and design effective investments, and to make strategic decisions regarding the right level of governance for the unique context of their business i.e. nature, size, complexity and macro environment. "Business Analysts and Project Managers alike are being forced to consider Business Continuity decisions in their day to day operational practices of their respective disciplines" says Glenn Brule, Governance Governance Growth Strategist at BlueZoo. "What this means is that in creating deliverables they will have to be acutely aware of the impact a failed solution may have on the entire organization, forcing them to look beyond risk registers and requirements traceability matrices." The automated SaaS base solution provides an enterprise wide view of business functions, current state levels of maturity versus desired levels of maturity and corresponding action items that close the gap and make the difference between being blindsided and being resilient to impediments that affect business performance.

As the winner of the Business Continuity Innovation Governance Manager will now compete in the Global Awards that take place in November during the BCM World Conference and Exhibition 2013, 6th to 7th November 2013 in London.
