I am looking for a defintion/description for an actor map i.e. utilized during the requirements elicitation processes to identify actors and their responsibilities, flushing out the business senarios that actors perform within their respective areas.

Thank for the comment Sandra! I was really looking at employing the actor map prior to project initiation, i.e during enterprize analysis, to determine what business processes that actors perform, and to identify processes performed by one actor that require inputs from another actor's processes.

Inputs and outputs from actors from a business perspective regrardless of the system or systems that may be employed, as well as identifying holes in process outputs where one business process is not being provided appropriate inputs, and requirements discovery at the business layer as a purpose of the actor map.

With that said, I was wondering if their was any books that address using the actor map from a business enterprize analysis perspective vice a systems development perspective? This maybe an opportunity for some of our writers in the community!
