Answer:

The purpose of the Solution Assessment and Validation knowledge area is to determine how closely a solution meets the original stakeholder and solution requirements as well as describe the activities that the business analyst should complete to ensure the successful implementation of solution.  These activities and tasks can be performed by the business analyst regardless of the type of solution being implemented including a new or revised business process, organizational structure, outsourcing agreement, software application, etc.

The tasks involved in solution assessment and validation can be performed on a single solution or be used to compare several solutions for the one which will best satisfy stakeholder and solution requirements while minimize implementation risk.  Additionally, the business analyst will determine which solution, if any, provides enough business value to justify its implementation.

The tasks involved in the Solution Assessment and Validation knowledge area include:

  • Assess Proposed Solution
  • Allocate Requirements
  • Assess Organizational Readiness
  • Define Transition Requirements
  • Validate Solution
  • Evaluate Solution Performance

Do your homework prior to the business analysis interview!

Having an idea of the type of questions you might be asked during a business analyst interview will not only give you confidence but it will also help you to formulate your thoughts and to be better prepared to answer the interview questions you might get during the interview for a business analyst position.  Of course, just memorizing a list of business analyst interview questions will not make you a great business analyst but it might just help you get that next job.
