How To Become BA or Data Analyst With M.Sc. in Physics Degree

Hi,

I am about to complete My Master's Degree (M.Sc) in Physics from a Canadian university. I am Good at Statistics and Mathematics too. I have some experience of Data analysis while doing my thesis research. I also have some basic level knowledge on Phython programming. I like to play with data. I came to know that a physics graduate can work as BA or data analyst. So I also want to become one. I have no financial or related experience.

Now I want to know where can i start from? What kind of job should i look to start my career in the field? Does it require any certification for this career? If yes, what should I study in addition for that? Actually I don't  want  to waste my time just studying because this M.Sc. is my double M.Sc. , I already have M.sc. degree in physics from my home country. Now I want to start my career seriously.

Thanking in advance for any suggestions.

Dear DKC,

It looks like you are looking for a job on data analysis and/or analytics.  You will need some prior experience or training.

I suggest you take a couple of courses in data mining (SQL, etc.) and analytics.

Take a look at our webinars and look for those that deal with data, analytics, or business intelligence.  It should give you a good feel for the type of skills and tools you will want to focus on.

Data and Analytics Webinars, and more...

Wishing you the best!

Sincerely,

Adrian
